Introducing Our New Story Feature

MyFamilyArchive (MFA) now enables the addition of a Story and accompanying photo without having to store the photo in another cloud site or use a Share Link (URL). The photo is used for both the Story header and the Preview Image.

The Story Appears in This Format...

Here's How It Works...

You will start just as you do with a new Linked Album, going to Collection Page > Chapter > + ADD NEW LINKED ALBUM OR STORY

Add New Linked Album or Story Image

You'll enter a Title, then type or paste the Story Text directly into the Album Description box.

Next is where a Story differs from a normal Linked Album. Above the Share Link edit box you'll see a check box option. Checking this grays out the Share Link/URL box and tells MFA that this Linked Album is a Story-only, and it will not try to link to another cloud site.

Finally, you can optionally add one photo that will appear in the Story header and can be cropped to become the Preview Image. This Photo will be stored by MFA.

Preview Image

The Story appears in the Collection Page just as any other Linked Album/Entry. Clicking on the Preview Image brings up the Story.

In summary, the new Story feature enables users to add a story in fewer steps, without requiring a Share Link. It does count as a Linked Album, and Free tier accounts require a subscription to add more than one Story.

Two Other Ways to Add a Story

1) The Narrative Feature - Each Collection Page automatically includes a "Narrative" section under the photo of the person or couple. The Narrative is ideal for an overview profile.

2) A PDF Document - Creating a PDF may be best if you want to include multiple photos and custom formatting in your Story. Here you would write your story in a product such as Word or Google Documents, save it as a PDF document (not required but suggested), and upload this to your preferred cloud site. You can then link to that document just as you do with any other Linked Album.
